Christmas 2011

Christmas is always a fun time of year when you have children. Brooks, Reese and Sloane were very excited this year! They are old enough now to understand who Santa Clause is and all of the fun activities like looking at Christmas lights and making cookies. Brooks, Reese and Sloane also know that Baby Jesus was born on Christmas and that He is the reason for this special holiday.

This year I wanted Brooks, Reese and Sloane to make their own cookies to leave for Santa on Christmas Eve. Here are the finished products:
We had fun making a mess with flour and cookie dough.....notice my "glass" rolling pinon the table...ha ha ha...
Brooks, Reese and Sloane ready to start the cookie making process...good thing they were wearing their PJ's and aprons because it was a big mess but they loved every minute of it!

Each year on Christmas Eve, we attend a family friendly church service. I love this tradition because it is the only time we can attend "big church" as a family. The Trio are normally in the childcare during the church service. Brooks, Reese and Sloane know that this night is important because it is the birthday of Baby Jesus.

I love this picture of Steve and Brooks watching the live Nativity Scene...

The children wear hats or headbands and create a live Nativity during the service. Here are our 2 stars and 1 king:

After church, we go out to dinner and then return home to get ready for Santa's arrival...

Our 3 little blessings...

Before going to bed on Christmas Eve, we read T'was The Night Before Christmas and then set out the cookies and milk for Santa
Those cookies look good!
Then we head outside to leave food for the reindeer so they can fly!

What an amazing year it has been for our family. We are blessed with healthy and happy children, a nice home, amazing family and friends and a year full of wonderful memories! I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us!

Santa!

The visit to see Santa is always the high light of the holiday....
This year I was excited to hear that Reese was actually going to sit on Santa's lap! For the past couple of years, she has been petrified of Santa and would not even stand next to him.
I have a beautiful Santa photo from last year with Sloane and Brooks...no Reese!
The Santa at NorthPark Mall is the best!
On our way to get our photo with Santa, we stopped to look at the ducks and turtles...

As we approached Santa, Reese began to get nervous, but with some reassurance she finally stood next to Santa!
She still doesn't look too confident but this is a step up from last year! :)

Trains at Northpark

Each year, I take Brooks, Reese and Sloane to see The Trains at Northpark. Since they are older, everything is very exciting to them...including these trains!

Here they are with their tickets...

The display of trains is extremely detailed. Here is a scene with the Golden Gate Bridge. We took Brooks, Reese and Sloane to San Francisco 6 months ago and they saw the Golden Gate Bridge during our trip. Now they recognize it everywhere we go!
Brooks found one of the many buttons that children could push to make different things move in each scene of the trains display.
Hey Mommy...I love pushing this button!
From New York City, to The White House to The State Fair of Texas...there are many things to see at The Trains of Northpark!

Last weekend we attended our mothers of multiples holiday party. As always, Brooks, Reese and Sloane had a blast!

Our 1st Santa photo of the season.
This was the first time that Reese would sit with Santa and actually interact with him....it has only taken her 4 years :)

Here's the post I wrote just after the camera crew left back in April 2010:

After 11 weeks of taping for the reality show about Moms of Multiples, the filming finally wrapped in April! The last segment was a family cookout with all of the families and our children.
Here is the crew with the pole camera shooting the end of the cookout...
