Potty Training and Swine Flu

Well, the past week has been a little crazy in our house! Two days ago, the trio and I were off to preschool together (I work there while they attend school). Everyone was fine...I saw the trio on the playground while I was taking my class outside. Reese was a little clingy....but she seemed fine.
About 45 minutes later, the front office was calling my classroom to tell me that Reese had fever. I was able to get her into the doctor's office an hour later. Her temperature went from 100 - 103 in an hour! Needless to say, I was extremely upset....with all the news right now about children dying from the Swine Flu, etc.
Sure enough, her test came back positive for Swine. I was devastated.

The doctor assure me that we had caught it early and with medication Reese would be fine. She also added that she had already confirmed 15 cases just like Reese before lunch that day!

I later returned with Brooks and Sloane and thankfully their tests were both negative!

A few days before all of this, we had begun the process of potty training Reese...sort of...
She came home from preschool one day and asked to sit on the potty! Basically, she does "something" each time she sits...
This time she actually went number 1 and number 2! I was so excited...jumping up and down...cheering her on, etc.
Well, she started crying....I think she thought she did something wrong. I showed her that I needed to flush her "new deposit" and then she called down. I was not ready for the next words out of her mouth "I want to wear panties....I don't want a diaper". Well, I did not want to deny her request so I spent the next two hours with her in the kitchen on the tile floor while my other 2 were screaming to get into the kitchen with us. Needless to say, she wet 6 pairs of panties in an hour. Ugh! Since then we have resorted to "pull ups"...something I said I would never use (I am learning to not say that...he he he). She has been doing pretty good but still has not conquered "holding it" in between going.....it will happen.

So two big things for Reese in 1 week! I do have to say that she is now obsessed with washing her "hams".....yes, "hams" not "hands"...so cute!

Sloane has also picked up a new word..."slipperies". My mom gave each of the trio a pair of Elmo slippers. Sloane calls them her "Elmo Slipperies".

Here she is showing off the new slipperies

Here is Reese is her "Dora panties"....before she was diagnosed with the Swine Flu just 3 days later.

Pumpkin Patch #2: Flower Mound, TX

Well, we decide to make another trip to a pumpkin patch...this time in Flower Mound, Texas. Sloane asked to have "ponies" for the outings...she looked so cute: On our way into the pumpkin patch!

Pumpkins!

Daddy and Brooks playing drums on the pumpkins:

Our attempt at a family photo...funny!

Sloane...striking a pose!

The girls enjoyed balancing on the pumpkins. Maybe we have some future dancers or gymnasts!

Brooks...hmmm....I guess he was not having a good time.

Reese striking a pose:

I love this picture of Sloane!

It was very crowded the day we went to the pumpkin patch so sadly the trio only lasted about an hour. They also had hay rides and train rides....maybe we will try those next year!

Fire Safety Town

I took the trio to our local Frisco Fire Safety Town for a tour. As a part of the tour, the children were able to crawl inside a real fire truck and walk around the small town.
Here is Brooks sitting on the ledge of one of the house in the small town. Our friend Betsy was there with her twins.....she captured this photo:

Reese wanted in on the picture action too:

Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday, we attempted to try out a new pumpkin patch but it was raining! Today, my moms of multiples group met at a smaller pumpkin patch. The weather was still not good....wet and cold!
We did manage to get a few photos...
Here are Sloane, Brooks and Reese: Our family...

Reese liked this gourd! We almost had to bring it home...

Brooks actually posed for a photo!

Steve and Sloane....she wanted to help pick out a pumpkin!

We had our Halloween outfits on but since it was cold, everything was covered up with jackets and sweaters. So I took a few shots are home.

Plan B....a rainy day = no pumpkin patch!

Steve took the day off today so we could visit a local pumpkin patch that is supposed to be awesome! Well, we woke up Friday morning to rain! Lots of rain! :(
So now...Plan B!
We decided to take the Trio to an outlet mall...and spend money. What a great Plan B!
This photo was taken later that night after shopping....in our new PJ's...riding on Daddy's back! We ate lunch at the Rainforest Cafe!

Reese loved the frog and actually gave him several kisses!

Sloane, Reese and Brooks...

We bought the girls these hats...love them!

My local moms of multiples group was meeting at another pumpkin patch the next day so we plan to attend!

October is here....and so is cold and Flu season!

Well, the weather is beginning to change but that also brings on the sickness.
Last year, Brooks, Reese and Sloane got the RSV virus 15 days before Christmas. So this year we are watching very closely.

We gave the trio a hot shower and put them in their new skeleton PJ's. They even glow in the dark!

Before bed, Brooks, Reese and Sloane got a dose of some medicine. They are so cute how they sit in a circle and wait their turn...
First, Sloane...

Then Brooks....

Then Reese...
