Notes from Colorado...

Well, we have been in Colorado for 2 days now and have already acquired many new memories. First, the trio LOVES the slide at the playground. Once the fear of the height and climbing was conquered, we could not stop the three of them from climbing up and sliding down! The best part was the hair sticking up on their heads from the static electricity.

Brooks, Reese and Sloane have also had several nature walks. They are learning about plants, flowers and rocks...oh yeah, and sticks! Sloane spoke the word "flower"...we were so happy!

Tonight, we took the trio to a village and then out to dinner. While playing, Sloane got her first splinter. It was huge! Steve had to really squeeze to get the splinter out...she did not even cry! She is a tough girl. :)

Afterwards, we went on a nice walk and found a running river. Steve taught Brooks, Reese and Sloane how to throw rocks into the river. They loved it! We also took a nice family picture...I will post on a later date when we return.

This trip has been wonderful and we are looking forward to many more adventures with the trio.

Brooks eats!

Well, after many months of frustration I think we have made some progress! As usual, I give Brooks things to try and he either smashes it with his finger or throws it on the floor. Tonight's choices were: banana (smashed) blueberry (smashed then tossed on the floor) and mini corn dogs (He ate them!). I hope I am not jinxing myself, but I may have found another food to add to the list of things he will eat:
Mac n cheese
Oatmeal
Applesauce
Cereal Bar
Grilled Cheese sandwich
Pancakes or waffles
Yogurt

Yea Brooks! We are so proud of you for trying a new food!

Our first baseball game

We went to our first baseball game as a family. The Plano Area Mothers of Multiples had a family night out, so Steve and I took the trio along. Needless to say, we spent more time in the playground area than watching the game. We did manage to eat a couple of hot dogs and have a beer!

Here's Brooks trying to climb Reese jumping

The slide was a big hit!

Proofs from our photo shoot

We had our first professional photo shoot. There were several nice pictures, but these are the ones we chose: L - R: Reese, Brooks & Sloane

Our photographer was fantastic! We are looking forward to more family photo shoots!

Last day at The Little Gym

Today was our last summer class at The Little Gym. Brooks was challenging himself today with the taller basketball hoop.
Sloane still loves the bubble machine.
Brooks learned to grip the bars...doesn't he look cute?
Here he is.....free hanging! What a strong boy!
Sloane loved this activity! The teacher roles them on top of a big wheel...
Then they put their hands down to do a front somersault.
Brooks wanted to get in on the action too!
Look at him flip!
Sloane also loves the bells.

Here is Reese trying out the balance beam.
Brooks got to try another skill....a front role on the balance beam.
Tuck your head....
... and roll! Good job!
Brooks, Reese and Sloane have learned many skills this summer at The Little Gym. Their coordination has developed as well as their social skills. Reese was not very social today, but I think she still had fun!

My sweet and skilled husband

Okay, Steve says to me over the weekend "I am going to Home Depot to buy some wood." The next thing I know, he is cutting wood and creating something...for me! Look at the desk he built for me! He is so talented! Now I have my own corner in our bedroom to email and work on the blog....thank you Steve!

A photo shoot

We had our first professional outdoor photo shoot this morning. I decide to follow up with some pictures at home. While we were at the shoot in the park, Sloane escaped! There was a brief moment when we did not see her! Well, "little Miss Curious" decided to put her toes in some nearby water! Nearly scared all of us....

Here is Reese holding her new dinosaur Daddy bought her after our photo shoot this morning. Sloane is sitting in a chair that was mine when I was a child. My grandfather (her great grandfather) finished and painted it himself.

Brooks holding his favorite toys...balls...and his favorite color...blue! The trio (L-R): Sloane, Reese (lying down) and Brooks
Sloane, Brooks and Reese......well, we had one happy child out of three. Group pictures are becoming quite challenging!

Sleeping...

Look at my little man! Brooks is hardly ever still these days....he looks worn out!
Sloane decided to hang her arm outside of the crib.....
Steve and I love to go in every night before we go to sleep and look at our little miracles!

We are using bowls

Finally! This is the first time the trio has eaten from a bowl and not thrown it across the room or on the floor! I had to document this event.....

Another visit to My Gym

We had another trip to My Gym. Brooks was upset most of the time (separation anxiety phase) but I happened to capture a moment when he was having fun! Sloane had a BLAST! Just look at her face. At one time, I watched her climb up a slide to a platform and then turn back around and slide down the slide...face first! She is such a "dare devil"
Reese with Sloane near the climbing wall.
Brooks, Reese & Sloane decided to organize the orange cones.
Look at the group of cones...I wonder who placed them there...hmmm... notice the pair of legs in the top corner...
It was Reese! I think she has learned this skill from Sloane!

Daddy's surprise!

Daddy surprised the trio with a new Little Tikes picnic table. He assembled it while they were asleep so when the woke up the next morning, it was the first thing they saw.... Sloane decided to climb on top.
She really like the umbrella on top!
Reese was testing out the bench....

Picking on our brother

It looks like Reese and Sloane have already begun to torture Brooks. We were getting them undressed for bed and Reese decided to sit on Brooks in their Lego wagon. Then Sloane wanted to get into the wagon....
Brooks finally escaped! I wonder what Sloane is thinking about?
