Daddy Daughter Dance & 1st Soccer game

Steve took the Reese and Sloane to their 2nd Daddy Daughter Dance. They had so much fun spending time with Daddy last year that we decided to make this an annual event.
I found some really pretty dresses for the dance, and then that night we had a Mommy and Daughter time where I fixed their hair. Sloane wanted her hair up and Reese wanted her hair down. Here are the girls on the dance floor:
Reese and Sloane love the song by the Black Eyed Peas "I'm Having a Good Time With You"...they even point at each other just at the right time in the song!
Sisters!

Last Fall, we signed Brooks up to play soccer. At the first game we realized that the teams had coed players. So for the Spring, we signed up Brooks, Reese and Sloane on the same soccer team.
Here's Sloane warming up before the game...
Go Brooks!
This picture makes me laugh! While Sloane was sitting out for a break from the game, she decided to organize the teams waters bottles from tallest to shortest!
Reese scored a goal!

Happy Valentine's Day

This year was an event filled Valentine's Day. It started with a party at Brooks, Reese and Sloane's preschool.
Here's Brooks making his Valentine card mailbox...
Just a few days before Valentine's Day Brooks flipped off the back of the couch and scraped his chin.

Snow and Ice! Do we really live in Texas?

This week we had one of the worst ice and snow storms in the Dallas area. School was canceled for 4 days in a row, and cabin fever hit our house hard! I do not know who was losing their mind more...me or Brooks, Reese and Sloane!
After the 3 day of being stuck indoors, we got about 6 inches of snow! Since all of the ice was covered with snow, we finally got out to play in the backyard...
Reese looking down from the fort of our play ground set.
Brooks checking out the snow and ice on the slide.
Reese making a snow angel...
We love our swings!
Sloane the "Snow Bunny"

We love snow!

The view from our front door...pure ice and snow! It is difficult to tell where the sidewalk and street are located.
Our house....where's the street?
Playground! The slide is ice and snow...

On Day 2 of the storm, we experienced "rolling blackouts" where we would lose power every 45 minutes. The power would be out for about 20 minutes, come back on and then go off.....it was extremely annoying! Luckily Steve stayed home from work that day and we took the Trio to the movies and lunch!

4 year check-up

The morning before I took Brooks, Reese and Sloane to their 4 year check-up, Brooks decided he wanted to wear his Iron Man costume to school. I tried to convince him to wear his "regular clothes' but he would not have it...
We were running late for school so instead of fighting him I just put on his shoes and put him in the car.
When I picked the trio up from school, he was STILL wearing the costume!
That afternoon, we went to the pediatrician for the 4 year check-up. Brooks (aka Iron Man), Reese and Sloane were excited and anxious to find out how much they weighed and how tall they were since last year. Little did they know that they would also receive 4 shots each at this appointment. My anxiety about the doctor visit was at an all time high by the time we entered the doctor's office.
Here are the 4 years stats:

Brooks: 39 inches tall and 32 pounds
Reese: 41 3/4 inches tall and 40 pounds
Sloane: 41 inches tall and 40 pounds

Needless to say, the end of the appointment was very stressful and unpleasant. Sloane was by far the bravest of the trio. She cried for maybe 2 minutes. Reese cried for quite awhile and even hugged me and said "Mommy why did you let them give me shots". This pulled at my heart strings and made me cry too! Brooks was still screaming when we got back into the car.
By the time we return back at home, Brooks had fallen asleep...still wearing his Iron Man costume:
Sloane and Reese decided to pose for a picture with their brother...
Finally some smiles (notice the band aid on Sloane's leg)

That night, Brooks had painstakingly arranged all of his toys on his night stand and in his bed...
Very nice and organized...just like his parents!

Happy Birthday on T.V.

A local news channel will post a photo of your children (or in my case children) on their birthday. Brooks, Reese and Sloane were excited to see their photo and hear their names on the T.V.
