Birthday party at the fire station

We went to a birthday party today for a friend who turned 3 years old. We got a tour of the Highland Park fire station...it was great! Here is Sloane sitting inside of the fire truck. I just love her face in this picture! Brooks was also inside of the fire truck. He liked the whistle of the fireman's coat.
Here he is, sporting a fire hat!
Brooks, Reese & Sloane were so tired...they fell asleep in the car after the party.
Here we are with our fire hats!
Sloane....
Brooks loved the fire trucks! Doesn't he look like a future fire fighter?
The trio got to see all of the hoses and equipment on the truck.
Daddy and the trio...
The trio had a blast....afterwards, we went to the park to play and have cake! I was shocked that none of them ate cake....they did eat plenty of goldfish crackers!

We are 20 months old!

Well, the trio is officially 20 months old today! It is hard to believe.....they have grown and changed so much. These are some pictures from our recent family vacation to Colorado: Reese, Brooks and Sloane...eating lunch.
Brooks, Sloane and Reese playing in the dirt.
Reese, Brooks and Sloane smiling at the camera!

Since our vacation at the end of August, the trio is using sign language and speaking. Brooks can sign and say "more" and "eat". He also says: "baby", belly button", "eye", "shoe" and "go go".
Reese can say "what's up" and Sloane can say "hi there" and "here you go" (or at least it sounds like it). Also, when I bring out their shoes, all three of them get excited and try to sit on my lap because they know when I put on their shoes they are going to go somewhere.

We started Mother's Day Out last week, and all three are adjusting well. Although, Sloane will not keep her shoes on (we will have to work on that one...ha ha ha). Today was the first day that Brooks got a "happy boy" note. He has been pretty sad up until today. :(

So, we are all moving on along....before we know it, our little three with be 2 years old!

First Day of "School"

Well, after driving our trio back and forth to Colorado for our family vacation, we took them to their 1st Mother's Day Out. Here are Brooks, Reese & Sloane....dressed and ready for school. They were watching Dora just before we left!
Here's Daddy showing them all the fun things in their new classroom...
We had to distract them so we could leave!
The girls did well on their first day, but Brooks was pretty sad. Hopefully, he will adjust soon. The will be attending for 2 days a week.

First Family Vacation to Colorado

We returned from our first family vacation on August 31st. We drove with Brooks, Reese and Sloane to Keystone, Colorado and back. (16 hours each way)
Here we are on our way to Colorado. We stopped to feed the trio breakfast on the side of the highway. When you have three children, you have to take a lot of things...thus the U-haul behind our Tahoe!
This was taken at one of the local playgrounds! Nice view, huh? Of course, the typically family picture...mommy and daddy looking at the camera...children not! Here we are again...this time everyone was looking! (sort of)
Finally, a nice family picture! This river was next to our condo. Steve taught the trio how to throw rocks into this river.
Steve and I were able to get away for 2 hours. We took the ski lift up to the top of the mountain.
Here we are...at the top!
This trip was a memorable experience. Brooks, Reese and Sloane had a great time and learned many new things. We are looking forward to the next family trip....maybe next summer!

Playing in Colorado

This is Sloane...running away as usual. I just love this picture.....a slide with a river and mountain...how great is that? Brooks LOVED the slide! By the end of the trip, he was climbing and sliding down all by himself.

Notes from Colorado...

Well, we have been in Colorado for 2 days now and have already acquired many new memories. First, the trio LOVES the slide at the playground. Once the fear of the height and climbing was conquered, we could not stop the three of them from climbing up and sliding down! The best part was the hair sticking up on their heads from the static electricity.

Brooks, Reese and Sloane have also had several nature walks. They are learning about plants, flowers and rocks...oh yeah, and sticks! Sloane spoke the word "flower"...we were so happy!

Tonight, we took the trio to a village and then out to dinner. While playing, Sloane got her first splinter. It was huge! Steve had to really squeeze to get the splinter out...she did not even cry! She is a tough girl. :)

Afterwards, we went on a nice walk and found a running river. Steve taught Brooks, Reese and Sloane how to throw rocks into the river. They loved it! We also took a nice family picture...I will post on a later date when we return.

This trip has been wonderful and we are looking forward to many more adventures with the trio.

Brooks eats!

Well, after many months of frustration I think we have made some progress! As usual, I give Brooks things to try and he either smashes it with his finger or throws it on the floor. Tonight's choices were: banana (smashed) blueberry (smashed then tossed on the floor) and mini corn dogs (He ate them!). I hope I am not jinxing myself, but I may have found another food to add to the list of things he will eat:
Mac n cheese
Oatmeal
Applesauce
Cereal Bar
Grilled Cheese sandwich
Pancakes or waffles
Yogurt

Yea Brooks! We are so proud of you for trying a new food!

Our first baseball game

We went to our first baseball game as a family. The Plano Area Mothers of Multiples had a family night out, so Steve and I took the trio along. Needless to say, we spent more time in the playground area than watching the game. We did manage to eat a couple of hot dogs and have a beer!

Here's Brooks trying to climb Reese jumping
Sloane inside the slide

The slide was a big hit!

We had our first professional photo shoot. There were several nice pictures, but these are the ones we chose: L - R: Reese, Brooks & Sloane

Our photographer was fantastic! We are looking forward to more family photo shoots!

Last day at The Little Gym

Today was our last summer class at The Little Gym. Brooks was challenging himself today with the taller basketball hoop.
Sloane still loves the bubble machine.
Brooks learned to grip the bars...doesn't he look cute?
Here he is.....free hanging! What a strong boy!
Sloane loved this activity! The teacher roles them on top of a big wheel...
Then they put their hands down to do a front somersault.
Brooks wanted to get in on the action too!
Look at him flip!
Sloane also loves the bells.

Here is Reese trying out the balance beam.
Brooks got to try another skill....a front role on the balance beam.
Tuck your head....
... and roll! Good job!
Brooks, Reese and Sloane have learned many skills this summer at The Little Gym. Their coordination has developed as well as their social skills. Reese was not very social today, but I think she still had fun!

My sweet and skilled husband

Okay, Steve says to me over the weekend "I am going to Home Depot to buy some wood." The next thing I know, he is cutting wood and creating something...for me! Look at the desk he built for me! He is so talented! Now I have my own corner in our bedroom to email and work on the blog....thank you Steve!
